Skykomish wa train rides

Jenn is super accommodating, kind and caring The shower was also extra amazing!! The only tip is that if you are sensitive to light when sleeping bring an eye mask or a couple of dark curtains to cover the windows in the bedroom cause it is pretty sunshiny in there.

What an incredible weekend. My husband and I enjoyed a romantic weekend away and thoroughly enjoyed staying at the sacred accommodation. I cant decide what we loved the most. The room was easily one of the most beautiful room I have stayed in. Beding was clean and so comfortable. Belladonna and Dusty were so accommodating and ensured we had our every need met. The property is stunning and my husband and I enjoyed laying out beneath the cathedral of trees for some romantic one on one time.

Will stay again!! This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in, it felt more like a resort! This place is stunning, the cabin itself is beautiful and much better than even the pictures showed. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need. The views were incredible. The space was really clean. The deck is massive- we just hung out there the whole time! Loved the tiki torches- very nice touch.

Exceeded expectations!! A very comfortable cabin for a relaxing weekend. The cabin is located near a few great hikes and not too far outside of Seattle. The host was easy to communicate with and we had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay here again! We've been using AirBnB for about 6 years now, all over the world, and William's place is probably the best place we've ever stayed.

The picture of the view from the deck can not possibly do it justice. It is simply majestic! Crystal clear, beautiful flowing river just below the deck and mountains reaching to the heavens - all of which is in perfect view from the hot tub. We almost wanted to sleep on the deck so as to not miss one moment of this place. It is also tucked a good distance in from the highway, which takes you there, so there is no vehicle noise pollution.

Another huge perk for us is that it was perfectly located near all the companies which run white water rafting tours on the Skykomish. If you are here for white water fun, there are numerous put-ins and take-outs just around the corner. William provided excellent communication all along the way, and excellent step-by-step directions for seamless access to the cabin. He also provided nice touches such as ice cream in the freezer and two bags of ice! The kitchen is a well stocked kitchen, and had everything we need to prepare a couple of meals during our stay.

Thank you William for sharing your beautiful place with us. We definitely hope we can book again! Can't ask for a better view and the place was just perfect! We loved the hot tub and just sitting out on the deck having coffee or wine. We'll be back for a longer stay next time! What a great place! Very private and excellent location with spectacular views. Bill was very responsive and great at communicating. Excellent experience. This cabin was beautiful and well kept, the mornings were amazing with views of the mountains and river and surrounded with forest!

Very secluded and private which is exactly what we wanted. The jacuzzi was the perfect touch for late nights in the cold winter. Coffee on the top porch, listening to the river made our mornings so peaceful. This was exactly what we needed being from the city. Check in was easy and Joanna was quick to respond. Joanna has lots of suggestions and good places to visit and eat in the binder. Wallace falls hike was one for the books, definitely would recommend if you love hiking with amazing views!

No heating in the house but heated floors and space heaters kept it nice and cozy while we were there! We loved every second of our stay and would definitely be back again! The chalet is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Washington. The house had everything we needed to make some delicious meals. The view is amazing. You can hear the river flow in the short distance. My wife and I enjoyed our stay together, but there definitely was enough room for our daughters and dogs.

Hopefully sooner than later. We had such a lovely time enjoying the chalet and its beautiful surroundings. The chalet was well-stocked, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook multiple meals, and the setting was wonderful. Beautiful cottage, sparkling clean, fantastic access to both the nearby river as well as a ton of different hiking trails all over the valley. There are a whole bunch of gorgeous little restaurants and fantastic little shops. This is a great getaway for families or people just looking to get off the grid a little bit.

Joanna's cabin was amazing, totally surpassed our expectations. Such a convenient location right off highway 2 and so secluded and peaceful. Also worth mentioning, her movie collection is incredibly curated. We will be back for sure! Everything was great from booking to checking out - we definitely plan to come back! We had an amazing time at the chalet - Joanna made it super easy to relax and unwind the moment you check in.

The dogs loved the huge yard to run around and they even provided a doggy gate to use allowing the dogs access to the porch without going down the stairs. There is also an amazing, and extremely organized, movie selection.

We had everything we needed and more, thanks again! It was fantastic! We enjoyed the hot tub and taking our dog down to the river. Beautiful relaxing location. Very clean and comfortable. Well stocked and appointed. Thanks Susy. Great little getaway. You are a bit closer to the neighbors than the photos depict but no issues.

I could not be more amazed at my stay here! I stayed here with my husband and two kids, and it was such a blast! Although you are close to neighbors, you still are in a very quiet and secluded area.

This place has everything you want and more! The amenities exceeded my every expectation. Everything in the cabin smelled fresh and new. I also loved the modern feel, it made me feel right at home. The hot tub was an amazing added bonus to the whole experience. The environment here is quiet and peaceful compared to the city where I live. I will definitely be coming back! Susy's place is right up against the river and has an amazing tranquil feel without being too far off the main road.

We loved the hot tub and walking along the river looking for stones. Beware, this place is not too private, neighbors like to be nosy, and don't have a problem speaking up! This is a lovely comfortable home with many extra touches to make your stay extra memorable. The house is well-equipped well-equipped and warm. The view of the river With the mountains in the background is beautiful.

A wonderful weekend getaway from the busy city rat race. Five stars across-the-board. Susy was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. This place is perfect if you are looking to enjoy the Pacific Northwest in a quiet setting with the sounds of a river, wind, and birds, you would think you were camping.

However you are just an hour drive or so to the city and be able to take in all that it has to offer. But when your done from a day of Hiking the big city or the mountains, Susys place allows you to relax in peace. The hot tub was awesome and I spent every night out looking at the stars. We recommend this place to anyone.

Thanks again. Beautiful location, clean, and cute decoration. The perfect place for a serene escape from the city! Incredible property. Seeing the reviews we thought the place would be great, oh my it was fantastic!! Can't thank Dianne and Ed enough for the little touches, great communication as it just added to our wonderful family reunion McCall, we'll see you next year!

Thank u for sharing your home with my daughter and I. Everything was wonderful! But let me tell u about that view I am looking forward to doing it again soon! Thank u again! The view was stunning.

The cabin was clean but could definitely use some TLC. The appliances worked but could use some updating for sure. The pictures definitely look nicer than what it actually is on the inside of the cabin, but again it was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The WiFi and tv were great amenities to have. The location of the cabin was not ideal. I have been to many small towns and will probably not come back to Index.

A lot of who I would call transients walking around and walking past the cabin which is supposed to be in a private community you have to have a code to get through a main gate. There were some nice homes there but a lot of not so nice places you have to drive by lots of abandoned vehicles, lots of no trespassing signs and lots of signs saying camera on premises. Again, the view was amazing, right on the river. However, we will not come back again. We really enjoyed this cabin and local area. We had a lot of fun exploring and coming back to such a clean and comfortable space.

We had the pleasure of spending our 30th anniversary at Blue Sky Cabin and it did not disappoint. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook your meals and the living area has lots of movies and cozy bedding too. We enjoyed the view of the creek bed, dinners by the firepit and several short walks to the Skykomish river.

Lits super confortables. This cabin was great! It was amazing waking up in the loft to a view of pine trees!!

I thought the best part regime de gwyneth paltrow all the windows. The loft was a double bed, so a little tight for two, but the pillows and comforter were great. There is an additional bedroom downstairs. Cookware and kitchen utensils are really outdated so if your local keep that in mind.

Lots of spiders, so beware! Overall it was a cute cabin! This cabin is amazing! Beautiful hikes very close by, quiet neighborhood. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again! Such a great escape from the city, and Tom is a superb host! Great recommendations for hikes close to the cabin, and restaurants in Leavenworth. The beds were extremely comfy as well!

Would recommend to stay for sure, love this portion of the Cascades! Had a very relaxing weekend at Tom's cabin. It had everything we needed. The cabin was cozy, and stayed cool during hot summer days. The place was awesome! Comfortable beds, too.

Just wanted a quiet little get-a-way to use as a "landing pad" for daily trips into the city with my grandkids Nestled in a grove of pine trees and baby maples, this cabin is just the ticket!

It's far enough out from the heart of Seattle about an hour and a half to give you lots of peace and uninterrupted solitude if you were wanting a retreat type place, but also affords a really nice, and comfortable setting for a family weekend. I will come back to this little hidden gem in the Pacific Northwest! Loved staying here, very cute little cabin. Perfectly dog friendly, in a quiet neighborhood full of cute mountain cabins.

If you prefer to be outdoors, the jacuzzi is right outside waiting for you. That area of Skykomish is absolutely stunning. Every turn you make off Hwy 2 is a scene ready to be captured. I hope everybody has a chance to experience this place. We loved the stay here. Everyone was very comfortable and loved the area, if you are hiking on the weekends, start early as this area gets busy!

The cabin was warm and inviting with all the couches and we made ourselves at home. We can't wait to come back! First off, this place is better then all those Instagram photos you look at. The house is spectacular and the host is tremendous in response and accommodating.

The other secret is all the awesome places to explore around the cabin. There seemed to be a never ending amount of things to do in this area. Heybrook lookout tower, Deception Pass, secret hot springs, hidden train tracks in the woods, the snow! There is a reason that this place is always booked up. Super toasty and warm on those cold winter nights, a fully stocked kitchen besides food, and a chill vibe for hanging with good people.

Do yourself a favor and book now! Cute, quaint, homey little space. Get back to your roots with this cozy cabin in the woods. Loved our stay in this little get away. Great movie, board game, and record collection. Everything you need to unplug and relax. Amazing space in an amazing location. The record player and hilarious DVD collection were great touches. Spent two days doing some amazing hikes just up the road, and to finish the day in the hot tub was a welcome treat.

Hope to come back one day and this will be the first place I look! Such a cute cabin! Great music to listen to and fun movies to watch at night. Beds were comfortable and the hot tub was great with the sunlight streaming through the trees in the morning. Thank you again for letting us stay! Would recommend highly! Bud and Beth's cabin was the perfect place to stay for a weekend hiking getaway! The space itself is very charming and perfectly accommodating, and the location is central to dozens of different day-hiking options.

For anyone looking to take a breather outside of the city, I would highly recommend looking here. Great location relative to Steven's Pass and only 90 mins from Seattle airport. It was a picturesque and private A-frame. Beautiful decor and cozy. Bring food, coffee, and wine! The location is great for making the trip to Stevens Pass. The place is stocked with everything to really make it feel like a home.

Very cozy and clean! Perfect size for prix implant mammaire sous le muscle rapidement short ski trip. Thoughtful touches like wood for the fire, DVDs, board games. Hot tub was very welcome after skiing! Owner was friendly and responsive. We loved it! The cabin was perfect for four of us, even though it's small it was so cozy and had everything we needed. It was only a 15 minute drive to Stevens Pass which was very convenient for our ski trip.

Great amenities, and Beth was a nice host. Would stay here again! Beautiful cabin with lots of hiking around. They recommend Deception Falls but that trail goes on for over ten miles. My fiancee and I stayed here during a snowstorm!

We both agree to 5 stars on this review, as it was everything we could've dreamt up, and more. When booking, I had mentioned the occasion, and they left a bottle of champagne as a gift! Despite the 3 feet of snow that accumulated during our stay, we were still able to depart from the winter wonderland, as they had arranged for the driveway to be plowed on the morning we left! I would recommend this spot to anyone as a couple or small family unit- as it is quiet, cozy, and the ideal romantic setting.

We took full advantage of the wood stove and the hot tub to help us stay warm. Great location, great hosts, great experience.

It fits perfect for huge family. We really enjoyed our time there. I love how there are bathrooms on each rooms. Wonderful cabin that's great for large groups located very close to Stevens pass and an hour from Leavenworth.

Our group of 11 was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to make a couple meals here during our stay. This place is great for group outings. The common space is open and spacious - - open kitchen, and lots of room to hang out.

Skykomish is a quaint little town also. Would love to be back soon! Highly recommended!! This place was above and beyond what we were expecting! The house was much bigger than we thought it was going to be and it was extremely clean. It just felt like vacation when we walked in: Lucy was amazing at answering all of our questions quickly and was extremely kind and easy to work with!

We are planning on coming back again! We visit Steven's pass in the summer for mountain biking and winter for snowboarding. This place is a perfect location and great for multiple families. Cozy, clean and spacious. Great spot for a group or family. We stayed for a ski weekend and the place was a super home base.

Such a beautiful place to stay- comfortable and cozy- perfect rest spot for a few days of snowboarding and skiing! Loved everything!! My husband took a group of his friends to the Nw MT challenge. It was for a bachelor party and the space was amazing! Clean, bigger than it appears and fun decor. Just amazing in every way imaginable! Lucy was a lovely host. The cabin is well designed and very comfortable.

Good communication from the host. We felt very welcomed and loved staying there. We had a fantastic time staying at Joni's place - it was a very clean, comfortable and well equipped cabin. The surroundings were beautiful and it was a great place to stay. We hope to return again soon! Great cabin in historic Skykomish. Easy walk to the tavern and the railroad museum. Only a 25 minute drive to Steven's Pass ski area.

The cabin is fully stocked, super comfortable and plenty of flexible sleeping options. Joni was great to communicate with. We loved the space. Small but laid out very well. And bear caves were awesome. Easy access to Steven's Pass and walk-able to amenities in Skykomish.

A delightful home with all the feel of a Mt cabin. Amenities beyond expectations. We will definitely be back and looking forward to rent her beach house. The place was fully equipped, very cozy, relaxing, and some privacy. The out side is very nice too. The only thing was a little loud was train passing by blowing it horns.

Wonderful property. Popular location, beautiful surroundings, easy access from highway. Thoughtfully furnished and incredibly well-stocked to make for a easy, relaxed getaway.

Excellent host -- friendly, considerate, and responsive! Hope to visit again. Our second time here - Little Bear Cabin is a magical place in the woods. This log cabin is appointed with everything the heart desires, and is a cozy hideaway and a relaxing retreat.

The fire pit outside invites gathering around and contemplation, even in the winter. There is a roaring river just down the road, and hiking of all levels within a skip and a jump. Great base for skiing at Stevens Pass, too! Highly recommended! Cute cabin, but just not for me in the cost department for what is offered.

Highway 2 is extremely close so the sound of traffic is constant thru the night, no directions to the river so we walk aimlessly looking for it, neighbors were also very loud partying till late and also very disappointed with the Stevens pass resort would recommend ski ANYWHERE but there. All issues owners cannot change really. Still made an amazing memory with my family and I suppose that is priceless to me! If you are looking for a simple weekend away from the daily grind this is perfect for you.

But once the snow comes in this cabin will be the perfect landing spot for snowboarding and skiing. Looking forward to another trip! The cabin is cozy and well decorated with a nice kitchen and large porch. Even though you are relatively close to your neighbors, the forest makes you feel secluded. Just a short walk down to the river made this a great place to visit to get out in nature. We even saw two bears during our short stay which was a real treat. Would highly recommend this comfy cabin for a getaway from the city.

This was the perfect cabin for a ski weekend! It is about 10 minutes from the slopes, so it's really easy to get to Steven's before the crowds. Inside, the cabin is very stylish and well supplied with everything you need for cooking and entertainment.

The fireplace was also perfect for warming up after a day outside! Cozy and well equipped cabin! Really enjoyed our stay. Has a gas grill and fireplace with a lot of wood. John was a fantastic host! He was easy to communicate with and provided great local recommendations. He added some nice touches to welcome us to his cabin, like having the fireplace loaded and ready to start a fire as soon as we walked in the door.

We were a group of 4 on a ski trip to Stevens Pass. John's place was exactly what we were looking for. This small, but surprisingly spacious ski cabin in the woods was the perfect escape. On the outside, the house is surrounded by trees and ferns, a great deck, and an outdoor firepit.

On the inside, it is clean, spacious, and has a classic log cabin feel. The wood burning fireplace is the main attraction in the living room. The house was clean, had nice towels and linens, and was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and clean. The location is about as close as you can get to Stevens Pass ski resort - 15 mins down the road. This is a perfect location for anyone looking to enjoy the Stevens Pass area. I highly recommend this cabin and would book again.

Short walk to amazing river access, located in a friendly, private community right off of Highway 2. Great overall stay. Cabin has a great location right off the freeway. About 20 mins away from Stevens Pass. Stopped in Monroe about 45 mins away for groceries before arriving at the cabin because there aren't any big grocery stores nearby.

Brenton was a great communicator. Responded promptly and was extremely helpful. Lots of room for a big group. Had 8 people in our group and didn't have a problem with space. Thermostats in every room to regulate temperature. Stayed warm during our stay.

There is a fireplace, although we didn't use it because the heaters were enough. Lots of silverware and utensils. Loved the waffle maker and flat portable griddle. River right by the house. Used the river trail and walked there in about 5 mins. Can see it from the house. Very relaxing to hang out by the river. Great location, nice place to stay. Once you go to bed, your impressions may change.

We had 9 people stay in the house and all of us had stained sheets, one guy had rock salt that had been poured on the sheets underneath the blanket. One of the night tables had mouse poop all over the inside of it. Also not noted in the ad is that laundry bed linens and towels is to be done prior to your checkout, keep note of this as doing laundry for people before checking out at 11 am requires you to wake up fairly early.

Great for big groups, too! We had four families, two with kids, stay here together comfortably for a short weekend. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous. Right beside a river and in a peaceful community. Perfect get away! Close to Stevens Pass resort if you like to ski or snowboard. Two thumbs up! Loved staying here for the weekend! More than enough room and very close to Stevens pass. We had a great time! Everyone absolutely loved it from a vote, out favorite part was simply waking up and having coffee out on the deck.

It is definitely the full PNW experience. So very beautiful. I look forward to hopefully visiting again! What a beautiful place! We loved every bit of it. The location, convenience and setup are perfect for a true getaway disconnected from your routine. Great host! The place was clean and the scenery was beautiful and peaceful. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. Check-in was easy and Dan was easy to communicate with. Cabin was perfect for us to relax and enjoy the river.

Great botox training bristol, great location, great deck! If it's relaxation and quiet that you seek, you can find it here.

The river is roaring and will put you to bed at night. Lots of bird watching and people watching as they rafted by the cabin deck. We truly enjoyed ourselves and will be back! If you are looking for a quiet place to spend some time this is it! We divided our time between the deck with the sounds of the rushing water and the comfy couches in front of the warm wood stove. Great place to relax and unwind!

I stayed here with a friend for two nights during our winter break and we had an amazing time. The river view in the backyard was gorgeous! We had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner and had a very comfortable stay. Also, Dan, the host is very kind and responsive. I almost don't want to tell yall how great this cabin is, because it may be one of the best spots in skykomish.

It doesn't get much sweeter than this spot. Simple, but thoughtfully stocked. Good books, fireplace with all the tools, games, TV not that you'd ever turn it on with the river right there. Melanie's place is outstanding, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the skykomish area, great access to Stevens pass and close enough to take a day trip to Leavenworth.

We had everything we needed and more in the house, which was very clean and comfortable. Communication was great, Melanie always got back to us promptly. Amazing place and great location an hour out from Leavenworth and close to some of the most gorgeous hikes you ever want to do.

The views from the hot tub are breathtaking! We had a fully stocked kitchen and did a lot of cooking. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed.

I would stay here again! Very clean!!! Great communication, amenities, decor, location and value! Melanie was an excellent host and her cabin was great for a weekend ski trip. It is very clean, beds are big and comfy and kitchen has plenty of space to cook. Living room comfortable holds 4 or 5 people.

Would definitely return. This was the perfect spot for a Steven's snowboarding weekend getaway. It has everything you would need for cooking full meals, as well as a cozy living room with blankets and pillows! The hot tub was easy to use after a day on the slopes, and the beds were comfy. Stayed at Melanie's place and loved it! She is quick to respond and very accommodating!

Highly recommend and we will definitely be back! Karl was an exceptional host. He was so accommodating, and so great at communicating about his place.

This is truly a little piece of relaxation. Nothing beats waking up in the morning, drinking a cup of joe, and enjoying this beautiful cabin that's tucked away in the woods. Karl's place went above and beyond our glamping needs.

Such a great host, that complimented a great stay. I would recommend this place again to anyone. Perfect relaxation getaway. Thank you for letting me use your place to spend quality time with the ones I love! Amazing place to stay. The cabin is in augmentation mammaire bordeaux avis utilisateurs excellent location. The cabin itself is also very clean, modern, and has great amenities. Comfortably housed 8 people, and easily more. Highly recommended.

This place is gorgeous! Clean, spacious, luxurious finishes throughout. We took notes on the master bath for our own remodel! Karl was quick to respond and helpful with local tips for tubing. There were some food items left for us: eggs, tortillas, butter, which was so nice!

All in all, a lovely home in a beautiful area. Karl is amazing!!! We would definitely come here again! Thank you for hosting us!!!! Karl's place is magical. It has surprisingly for the remoteness such a nice kitchen that is a pure joy to cook there.

Also there so many different sitting area that is the ideal place for a larger group to go and enjoy the beauty of nature. The Hot-Tub is amasing to watch the stars out of.

The Bathrooms are very well designed that you could spend hours in there. It is a magical place out in the woods at the door steps to nature. This is a great cabin for a family retreat. The loft bedroom is completely walled off with a door and connected bathroom, making it a great option, even if you have small children.

The cabin is three stories and surrounded by blackberry brambles and trees, keeping the setting very private.

The barbeque on the deck had propane stocked, but it needs to be cleaned. Flare ups from the buildup made it unsafe to use. Over all, this is a very relaxing vacation spot for a great value. Enjoy a quiet and peaceful stay at this adorable cabin in the woods! Inside is stocked with everything you will need for your stay, including a fun downstairs game area. Easy check in and great communication. Bonus- plenty of hiking in the area and Steven's Pass is close for biking or skiing.

Highly recommend! The location is amazing and the house was spectacular! We had a wonderful family vacation at the little bear cabin. It was easy to access fun activities like horseback riding and river rafting from this place.

Roomy home on a secluded river front parcel in a sweet Alpine village. Easy access to Skykomish, hiking, etc. The kitchen is ideal for entertaining and the room upstairs has a long balcony.

Great home for a couple or small family in a great area with so many outdoor activities within easy driving distance. We will be running trains all three days. Come on up, the first train leaves the depot at a. The Great Northern Railway originally crossed Stevens Pass by a series of switchbacks, before the 1st tunnel was completed in This location was about 20 railroad miles from Alpine then called Nippon before the tunnel was completed, and less than 15 after the tunnel opened.

I had not seen this photo before today. It is the best photo I have seen of trains in action on the switchbacks. The leg on the right side led to Cascade Tunnel Station i … t was named that before the tunnel was built. If you look in the distance you can see another train heading down the switchbacks, they have just come across the summit. The history is alive in Skykomish! Come ride a train this weekend on the Great Northern and Cascade Railway. Keith will be up to make steam with his coal fired ten wheeler, and of course Mike with his See you there.

For those of you who live in Seattle this will make sense. I checked on Bing maps today. Most of us think of Alpine as being north of Seattle as well as east. Actually Alpine is just about as far north as Northgate, in fact just across Northgate Way from the north entrance is the latitude of Alpine.

Longitude of Alpine is about 1 degree, or one th of the Earth's circumference, east of Seattle. Marianne Pariseau LeSage posted this wedding announcement of her grandparents. I am resharing it in the belief more people will see it. The reason I am sharing this is because it shows the beginning of the Nippon Post Office in Seattle on September 15, It was that post office that caused the little depot at Nippon, WA to be renamed Alpine, WA, the name by which we know it.

And for people interested in Seattle history, this is an interesting video. Pretty fascinating animation showing the chronological development of Pioneer Square back to the pre-Western era no sound. Makes it much easier to understand the transitions and really helps to link the eras together.

Alpine Baldy was an important part of the life of everyone who lived in Alpine. Alpine Baldy was just across the valley in everyone's view. Now there will be a new trail on Baldy. Grand Opening will be this weekend. Mary Daheim take special note. Also Magdalen Daheim. It will be interesting to look back across the valley toward Alpine.

I am sorry to report that, when we visited the school in Alpine on May 18,the foundation of the high school building is starting to collapse. Shown here, the west wall of of the foundation has fallen away from the rest of the foundation.

It starts with Martin Marten Creek city and ends with Alpine. Martin Creek City wasn't really a city but it was the most populous place in the upper reaches of the Skykomish years ago. The camp was not directly on the line, but the right-of-way switchbacked twice nearby, thus running west, east, and again west within a mile or two of the camp, so labor could be dispatched daily as needed to numerous places along route.
